Food as Medicine Everyday (FAME) - Banks, OR

The Food as Medicine Everyday (FAME) program is a series of 90-minute weekly workshops that demonstrate simple techniques for selecting and cooking tasty, nutritious whole foods and teach how these foods can improve health and wellness.
FAME includes weekly nutrition education lessons and hands-on cooking workshops. Each week our healthcare team, including a naturopathic doctor, share their in-depth knowledge around chronic disease, wellness, and nutrition. FAME classes can serve those looking for an introduction to cooking and eating whole foods, as well as those looking for a deeper understanding about the health benefits of a whole-foods-based diet.
Regardless of age, cooking experience, or health status, you and your whole family will benefit from learning healthy cooking skills and nutritional know-how in these fun and engaging workshops.
FAME in Banks includes:
- Weekly nutrition education lessons with a licensed naturopathic doctor
- Hands-on cooking instruction, showing step-by-step instructions for preparing recipes and highlighting important nutrition information
- A whole-foods-based meal each week
- The Food as Medicine Everyday: Reclaim your Health with Whole Foods book, written by Dr. Julie Briley and Dr. Courtney Jackson
- Connection with community through group cooking activities and discussions
- Transform your eating habits this Winter!
Registration:
$25 per person for the series; includes book (with recipes) and meal each week
Location:
Classes will be held at Banks Community United Methodist Church, 42451 Depot Street in Banks, Oregon.
